What You Will Need in Year 4

Reading Books:  Your child will need to bring their reading book and reading record to school every day. You are encouraged to read with your child every day and to sign their reading record.

Homework:  Children are set weekly online maths and English homework. They are also expected to visit the Times Tables Rock Stars website three times a week in order to practise their times tables. Children are expected to arrive in Year 4 knowing the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 times tables. By the end of Year 4, children are expected to be secure with all the times tables from 2 - 12. In the summer term, Year 4 children across the country must complete the multiplication tables check. It is very important that children continue to practise their times tables on a daily basis in order to meet and maintain these expectations.

Salford Museum & Art Gallery

Year 4 have been learning all about the Victorians in history this half term, so they took a trip to Salford Museum and Art Gallery to find out more about the past. They spent some time in the Victorian Gallery examining paintings as well as some Victorian artefacts.  The children then took a trip back in time to Lark Hill Place - a recreation of a typical northern Victorian street. The children had the opportunity to dress up in period costumes and explore the street, finding the different artefacts they had studied earlier in the day. What a fantastic day!
