Lledr Hall 2025
Thursday
The children began their last full day at Lledr Hall with a hearty fry-up! Ready for another action-packed day, the children then split off in to their activity groups to complete the activities they didn't do yesterday. Some children took a trip to Borth-y-Gest to explore the beaches there and do some rock climbing, whilst others tackled the jungle gym and high ropes course back at Lledr Hall, including the infamous 'Indiana Jones' bridge.
For tea tonight, the children enjoyed beef with Yorkshire pudding, mashed potato and broccoli, followed by a strawberry sundae - it was utterly scrumptious!
After their tea, the children started packing and then spent some time making cards for the Lledr Hall staff to say thank you to them for looking after us so well this week.
After such a busy week, the children are having a relaxing evening watching a film before bedtime.
The children have had a fantastic time this week and we are so proud of all the perseverance, teamwork, effort and enthusiasm they have shown, as well as how well they have represented St. Mark's. The children will be sad to say goodbye to Lledr Hall tomorrow, but they are super excited to come home and tell you all about the adventures they have had!
Wednesday
After a good night's sleep the children were up early this morning and raring to go! The children voted for their breakfast this morning and picked pancakes with a choice of bacon and maple syrup or yoghurt and compote.
The children then split up in to their activity groups and headed out for a fun-filled day of adventure. Group 1 spent the morning on a walk round Llyn Elsi (a lake above the village of Betws-y-coed) enjoying some beautiful Welsh scenery, and then spent the afternoon using their problem solving and teamworking skills to navigate their way around the jungle gym. Group 2 spent the day at the beach at Borth-y-Gest doing rock climbing, learning about the ecosystem and enjoying a delicious hot chocolate by the sea. Group 3 spent the morning on the jungle gym and then headed out for an afternoon walk around Llyn Elsi.
For tea tonight, the children had pasta with meatballs and peas followed by a delicious homemade Oreo cheesecake.
After tea, the children spent the evening playing a selection of jumbo wooden games which were lots of fun! After such a busy day, the children are ready for a good night's sleep and are excited to see what tomorrow will bring.
Tuesday
We arrived safely at Lledr Hall after a scenic journey through Wales. The children spent some time getting to know their new home for the next few days before stopping for dinner. After refuelling, we took a walk by the River Lledr before stopping for some team building activities. The children had to use their problem solving skills to complete a number of tasks which they did really well!
The children were very excited to find out where they would be sleeping! Once they had settled in to their dorms, they were treated to a tasty tea of garlic chicken, flat bread, chips and salad followed by waffles and ice cream - yum!
This evening, the children had a chance to put their map-reading skills to the test with some night-time orienteering in the grounds at Lledr. After lots of running around in the dark, the children were ready for their supper and then went straight to bed!
The children have had a fantastic first day and are excited to see what tomorrow brings!
